WHO I WANT TO BE

When I was a young first-grader

I visited Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre

By then I had grown an interest

In space science, with a great amount of zeal and zest

I read a lot of interesting books

Never leave any corner and nook

Asking questions to my father night and day

Stephen Hawking’s books led me astray

Studying recent satellites like Artemis Two

Apart from reading, that’s a noticeable hobby of mine too

Every bolt, part and mechanism

For me, it’s nothing but any enthusiasm

Cramming books and facts about planets far and wide

Gives me a whirlwind of emotions when I’ll be on a ride

And when a cloud of confusion hovers on me, I turn on my laptop

Google helps me, settles me, yet, trust me, I never longed to stop

A space scientist is what I want to be

On the ISRO team is where I want my name to be seen

Sweat, hard work, blood, and tears are all it takes

But trust me, this is the journey I’ll definitely make
