The Dharamshala Superfast Express runs from Ahmedabad in Gujarat to Dharamshala in Punjab. It is a two-day ride filled with stations in places that are memorable to visit. But in the return journey, it stops at a very small station between Jaipur and Bhuj. This station is known as Halchalpur.  It is an amazing, lively village, where excitement blends with flawlessness. But there was just one problem.

Well, at the eastern side of the village, lives a man whose only companions are animals! He hosts a whole collection of them, including a horse, a dog, a wolf, and even a kangaroo that he had taken from Sydney! And of course, the biggest problem is that he is always furious at something or somebody. If you go there, they can tell you loads of funny strories about him getting angry. This man’s name was Mohan, though everyone called him ‘the furious man’.

For example, once his pigeon ate both the rotis that he was going to eat for lunch when he had gone to feed his dog! And who could forget the time when his dog bit his hat so hard that he tore it into pieces?

This is the reason that the eastern side of this village was uninhabitable, since if anyone disturbed or provoked him, he would set his cheetah on them.

One cold, winter day Mohan found a small, but precious gold coin inside his wallet. ‘Since when did I have a gold coin in my old wallet’ he wondered. He ran and told his best friend     ( who was lucky to have not witnessed his bad temper ) Raghunath, the butcher, immediately.

“Today, when I woke up, I found a gold coin in my old wallet! But don’t tell anyone, for they will try to steal it” were the words he had spoken.

​

But as soon as Mohan left, Raghunath went straight to his friend, Ramaiah the doctor.

“You know Mohan, that angry young chap who lives in the eastern part of Halchalpur? Today, as soon as he woke up, he found a bag full of gold coins in his bag! But don’t tell anyone, otherwise somebody will steal it and he’ll get angry again.”

But as soon as Raghunath left, Ramaiah went to tell his grandfather, Rohit. “Rohit dada, you know what happened today? Mohan, the furious man found a bunch of gold coins in his house! But don’t tell anyone, will you?

And then, the story spread to the entire village, and slowly became a rumour. At the end of it, the rumour was that Mohan had hidden huge chests of gold and siver underground, right under his house!

Thus, half the village gathered near Mohan’s house and started digging. Well, a sensible person would not have gone, since Mohan threatened to set his cheetah on them, and well, after they ran away, they all heard Mohan laugh out loud.

And then, the Dharamshala Superfast Express stopped at an amazing station without a furious man.
